Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan has announced that thirty percent of the grievance applications received during Praja Seva sessions have been resolved. Speaking at the second district-level session in Khanapur on October 5, 2026, he stated that roughly two hundred and fifty applications were filed during the first session in Yaragatti. While about thirty percent of those are now settled, the rest remain at different stages of processing. The second session brought in around two hundred fresh petitions, which will go to the concerned officers with strict timelines for quick action. Most of the public complaints center around the Forest Department, the Public Works Department, and the Revenue Department, alongside issues about school building construction and cremation ground allocation. Karnataka Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi, who attended the Khanapur event, noted that the state government created a dedicated public grievance department and launched the Praja Seva Andolana campaign to fix local problems fast. He instructed local officials to handle issues directly without passing every file up to senior officers.

Context

Public grievance redressal camps are regular administrative exercises used by district authorities across India to bridge the gap between citizens and local government machinery. These sessions allow people to raise civic and departmental issues directly with senior bureaucrats and ministers without needing to visit multiple state offices.
