The state government of Telangana has officially confirmed that music director Anirudh Ravichander and cricket franchise executive Kavya Maran will get married in November. The confirmation came through a social media post by the Telangana Chief Minister's Office on Friday evening, following a personal visit to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his Jubilee Hills home.
Reception Details
Sun Group Chairman Kalanithi Maran and his wife Kavery Maran met the Chief Minister to hand him an invitation for their daughter's wedding celebration. According to the official post, the reception event is set to take place in Chennai on November 21. Hindustan Times noted that the CM also shared pictures and videos of this meeting on the internet.
Past Rumours
Talk about a romance between the two has circulated for years, fueled early on by a sighting of the pair at a Las Vegas dinner. A social media post in June 2025 claimed they had been dating for over a year and alleged that actor Rajinikanth, related to Anirudh through his father's family, had met Kalanithi Maran to discuss the match. Anirudh posted a lighthearted denial at the time telling people to stop spreading stories. Speculation picked up again earlier this year when actor YG Mahendran, who is Anirudh's uncle, told a digital channel that his nephew was heading toward a major wedding and called Kavya a good match.
Background
Kavya Maran, who is 28 years old, serves as the head of the Sunrisers Hyderabad cricket team and assists in running her family's media network. She gained wide public attention for her expressive reactions from the team dugout during cricket matches. Meanwhile, Anirudh remains busy with film projects, having recently created music for movies like Jailer 2 and lining up work for upcoming films featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Kamal Haasan, and Rajinikanth.
Context
High-profile celebrity weddings in India frequently draw intense public interest and media coverage long before families make formal announcements. Political leaders often receive personal invitations to such major family events from prominent business figures in the region.
