Telangana is planning to set up a centre of excellence for micro, small and medium enterprises to help them adopt new technology, find new markets and secure investments. IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu announced this on Saturday while opening the LUB MSME South India Summit in Hyderabad, which was organized by Laghu Udyog Bharati.
Support and Grievances
The State government is also planning to hold a monthly grievance day to listen to problems faced by small businesses and solve them quickly. Mr. Sridhar Babu noted that small businesses are vital for industrial growth and support the livelihoods of millions of families. The government has already started a special MSME policy to strengthen these businesses and is upgrading industrial parks around Hyderabad. He advised business owners to focus on product quality, better skills, new technology and higher production to stay competitive.
Context
Small and medium businesses form a major part of the country's industrial backbone by creating local jobs and manufacturing goods. State governments frequently introduce dedicated policies and support centers to help these smaller units overcome financial and technical hurdles.
