Three people lost their lives in two crashes that occurred near Bhattarahalli, K.R. Puram, over the weekend. The first collision happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday when a motorcycle carrying Shivraj Gowda Patil, 24, of Haveri, and Laxmikantha, 26, of Kalaburagi, struck a lorry as they rode home after work. Both riders, employed by a private firm and staying in a rented flat in Basavanapura, died on the spot. Police have taken the truck driver into custody, charging him with rash and negligent driving. The second crash unfolded at about 6 p.m. on Friday. Sachin, 34, a resident of Thubarahalli in Hoskote, was on his motorcycle when an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation bus hit him near the same location, leading to his death. Both incidents have been logged by the K.R. Puram traffic police, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Dinakar said investigations are ongoing. ## Context Road accidents involving two‑wheelers are frequent in Bangalore because of dense traffic and mixed vehicle types. The involvement of a public‑sector bus and a heavy truck underscores the dangers of careless driving on busy urban routes.
