Air India SATS Airport Services has rolled out a short-term storage option at its BLR Logistics Park in Bengaluru. This offering gives shipping companies and freight forwarders flexible space for urgent or temporary goods, including items that need temperature control. Customers can rent space on demand for as little as one day without signing long-term contracts. Salim Chaudhary, who serves as the chief operations officer at AISATS, stated that the service was created to provide top storage space without binding agreements. He added that the company aims to improve supply chain speed and support regional growth as the cargo sector grows.

Facility Details

The eight-acre facility includes top-grade warehouses, a customs-bonded zone, cold storage, and office spaces under one roof. The park sits close to the Kempegowda International Airport and connects directly to National Highway 44. The company noted that this close location cuts down transit times and shipping expenses by removing the need to move goods to distant warehouses located up to fifty kilometres away. Major global logistics firms like DHL, FedEx, and DSV already operate within the park. The new short-term rental plan now opens these facilities to smaller and mid-sized businesses that only need occasional storage space.

Context

Logistics hubs near major airports play a vital role in keeping supply chains moving fast for international trade. Offering flexible rentals helps smaller businesses manage sudden spikes in cargo volume without paying for empty space year-round.
