TDP MLC Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao said more than 35,000 government jobs will be filled under the state’s job calendar, boosting support for the NDA alliance in upcoming local body elections. He added that brisk economic activity and welfare schemes are driving voters toward the TDP, Jana Sena Party and BJP. In North Andhra, projects such as the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, the proposed Reliance data centre at Bhogapuram, the Google AI data centre near Visakhapatnam and the ArcelorMittal steel plant in Anakapalli are under way. Rao credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the education minister for attracting about 1,037 projects worth ₹29.3 lakh crore, which he said will create nearly 20 lakh jobs for youth. He said recruitment drives for assistant professors, lecturers, teachers and Group‑1 officers have already issued notifications, giving confidence to unemployed graduates. Rao, an academic who won the North Andhra Graduates’ seat in 2023, said he was campaigning in Vizianagaram and expects intellectuals, teachers, lecturers and business persons to back the TDP in municipal, parishad and panchayat polls. He noted that systematic job‑calendar recruitment is strengthening the appeal of the NDA parties among young voters. ## Context The job‑calendar approach is a state‑run recruitment system that aligns hiring with a fixed timetable, aiming to reduce delays and increase transparency. It is used to meet the large employment promises made by the current government.
