Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Sunday claimed that foreign entities and external forces are supporting the ongoing campaign against the Centre on vote theft. Speaking at a party meeting, he stated that the Narendra Modi government will not surrender to anarchist elements and their plans.

Student Elections And Party Wins

Mr. Rao pointed to a rising wave of nationalism among young people. He said this trend is visible in recent student union elections in Punjab, Kerala and Hyderabad, where candidates backed by the BJP ideology won. He also mentioned the party's recent MLC election victories in Bihar and Maharashtra as proof of a growing support base.

Telangana MLC Elections

Shifting focus to upcoming Graduates' and Teachers' MLC elections in Telangana, the BJP leader asked party workers to make sure every eligible graduate registers as a voter. He warned that the ruling Congress party has a history of misusing power and urged caution against both Congress and the BRS. Looking back at past contests in the Hyderabad Graduates' constituency, he noted that party leaders like V. Rama Rao, L.S. Raju and T. Rajeshwar Rao previously won the seat. He also mentioned his own narrow defeat in the last election to a BRS candidate, whom he accused of spending large sums of money. He expressed confidence that public unhappiness with the Congress and BRS governments will help the BJP win both seats.

Support For Healthcare Workers

At a separate event, Mr. Rao backed protesting National Health Mission employees and urged the Congress government to fix their problems right away. He expressed support for their strike over proper pay scales, noting that roughly 17,000 doctors, ANMs and paramedical staff at Primary Health Centres and neighbourhood clinics are on strike. He also demanded equal pay for equal work for all healthcare workers, including those in Ayurveda, Homeopathy and AYUSH services.

Context

Political parties in India often use student union wins and local legislative council elections to measure ground-level support and build momentum ahead of major state or national assembly contests. Issues involving contract and mission-based government healthcare workers frequently spark state-level labor disputes over pay parity and regularization.
