Actor Tiger Shroff safe after gunfire hits Mumbai area, driver among injured

Film star Tiger Shroff avoided physical harm during a shooting incident on Sunday evening in the Juhu neighborhood of Mumbai, though two individuals, including his driver, suffered injuries. Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg stated that the attack happened around 7 p.m. as the actor finished his work and left the location. The driver, named Firdos or Firdaus, sustained a hand injury, while a bystander identified as Mr. Chauhan also got hurt and went to a local hospital for medical care. According to Hindustan Times, three motorcycle-riding attackers carried out the assault near Pushpa Park after the actor returned from playing football at a club. Police forces and forensic experts rushed to the spot Sunday night to collect physical evidence and check security camera footage, with fifteen separate police squads now searching for the culprits.

Official Response

Chief Minister and State Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis got in touch with Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti to order a rapid investigation and strong legal action against the wrongdoers. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stressed that protecting the public remains the top priority of the administration and warned that criminal syndicates will not find any room to operate, drawing a comparison to the major gang wars of the 1990s. Both leaders also spoke directly with the film star to offer assurances of safety. Meanwhile, political opponents criticized the government over public security, while filmmaker Ashoke Pandit noted that a similar shooting occurred a few lanes away at director Rohit Shetty's bungalow in recent months, creating a deep sense of fear and insecurity among people in the entertainment sector.
