Investigation Update
Mumbai Police have recovered the two-wheeler used by three attackers who fired five rounds at actor Tiger Shroff in Vile Parle on Sunday evening. Authorities have also detained two persons for questioning regarding the shooting, which occurred at 8pm while the actor was leaving Pushpa Park after playing football. According to Bollywood Hungama and police reports, Tiger Shroff is safe and did not sustain any gunshot injuries. However, the actor's driver and an autorickshaw driver received gunshot injuries during the attack and are both stable. Shroff personally drove his injured driver to the hospital after exchanging seats.
Police Action
Investigators recovered the abandoned bike near Andheri Railway Station after reviewing CCTV footage that led them to the DN Nagar area in Andheri West. The attackers were seen moving toward the railway station and boarding a train to escape, prompting police to scan station CCTV footage using facial recognition software. Fifteen teams have been formed to investigate the case from multiple angles.
Gang Claims Responsibility
Shortly after the incident, two alleged operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, named Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, claimed responsibility through social media posts that included a voice message. In their statement, they warned that anyone in the Mumbai film industry who ignores their demands or works with Salman Khan faces similar attacks. Meanwhile, political figures have reacted to the event, with Congress leader Sachin Sawant posting on X to criticize the state of law and order in Mumbai following recent high-profile incidents.
Context
High-profile security incidents involving Bollywood figures often draw intense public and political scrutiny regarding urban safety and organised crime activity in Mumbai. Law enforcement agencies typically deploy multiple special teams and digital surveillance tools such as CCTV tracking and facial recognition to trace suspects in high-priority urban cases.
