Three suspects were detained at Kota railway station after a plan to assault actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai was foiled. Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam said the trio were tracked after Mumbai's Crime DCP shared their identities, prompting a rapid search of the train within fifteen minutes. The men – Rehan from Sonipat, Haryana, Hritik from Bihar, and an unnamed minor – were taken into custody and will be handed over to Mumbai authorities for further questioning. Gautam explained that the attackers intended to get off at Jaipur and catch a bus to Delhi when the police received the tip-off at about 9:45 a.m. The train reached Kota around 10:30 a.m., where the sweep led to their arrest. According to the SP, gangster Anil Pandit had directed Rehan to carry out the attack, but the star escaped unharmed. Hritik works as a Rapido rider, while the other two are laborers. Two of them already face charges under the Arms Act and for motorcycle theft, with more details to emerge after Mumbai police interrogate them. Gautam added that the suspects were attracted by a large sum of cash and the promise of a life abroad, and that officials involved in the swift operation would be recommended for an award.
Context
The incident highlights how organized crime networks sometimes recruit low‑level workers for high‑profile assaults, using financial incentives and false promises of overseas settlement. The quick coordination between Mumbai and Rajasthan police prevented a potential violence against a popular film star.
