The Incident

Gunmen fired five rounds at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai on Sunday evening around 7 pm as he was leaving a football club. Tiger escaped unhurt, though he suffered gunpowder burns on his right hand, but his driver and a bystander sustained injuries. Three men suspected in the shooting were arrested hours later in Rajasthan's Kota by Kota city police, with two of them accused of opening fire and the third working as a bike taxi driver.

Industry Reactions

Actor Vidyut Jammwal released a selfie video questioning why Tiger's fans at the scene did not chase the shooters, while also telling the Mumbai Police that such security lapses must never happen again. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma noted that the attack seemed driven by vanity and pride rather than extortion or contract murders. Actor and Lok Sabha MP Shatrughan Sinha expressed shock and pointed out that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde were taking the serious matter forward. Congress leader Nagma blamed the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, questioning how gangsters could operate openly from Ahmedabad Sabarmati Jail. Other film figures including Ranvir Shorey, Rahul Dholakia, Ravi Kishan, and Rakesh Bedi also condemned the attack and raised concerns about public safety.

Context

High-profile threats and security incidents involving film personalities often trigger intense public debate about law and order and state policing standards. Investigations into such targeted attacks generally involve tracking suspects across state borders and examining possible connections to organized crime syndicates operating from correctional facilities.
