Kota Police Arrest Three Suspects in Mumbai Firing Targeting Actor Tiger Shroff

Three men linked to a firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai have been arrested by the police in Kota, Rajasthan.

The Arrest

Kota City Police intercepted the suspects on the Pune-Jaipur Express after receiving information on Monday morning at around 9:45 am. The team set a trap within 15 minutes, covering platforms and exit points to search the train. The three detained individuals are Rehan, also known as Sukka, from Sonipat; Hritik Kurmi, also known as Roshan, from Begusarai; and one minor. Preliminary questioning revealed plans to travel to Delhi and then flee to Nepal, with Rehan having prior contact with Anil Pandit.

The Attack

The shooting occurred at roughly 7 pm on Sunday as Tiger Shroff left a football club in the Juhu area of Mumbai. The attackers fired at the actor's car, injuring his driver while Tiger escaped direct gunshot wounds. Crime branch sources state the attackers monitored his regular Sunday visits to the football ground. After the attack, they fled on a motorcycle via SV Road, abandoned it near Andheri West railway station, boarded a train to Borivali, and crossed the Maharashtra border.

Reactions and Security

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Tiger's home on Sunday night, stating that Tiger and his mother, Ayesha Shroff, were shaken, and that the actor sustained left hand injuries from gunpowder and glass. Shinde promised strict action against threats to public figures. Security was subsequently heightened outside actor Salman Khan's Bandra residence with police vehicles and personnel in bulletproof jackets. The case involves charges under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, alongside Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.

Context

High-profile security threats against film stars in Mumbai are often handled by inter-state police coordination to trace suspects fleeing across state borders. Such incidents routinely prompt heightened security measures across residences of other prominent actors in the city.
