Arrests Made

Kota City Police in Rajasthan have apprehended three suspects on the Pune-Jaipur Express in connection with the recent firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai.

The Attack

The attack occurred at around 7 pm on Sunday as Tiger Shroff was returning from a football club in Mumbai, near Pushpa Narsee Park and the Juhu area. Three men on a motorcycle fired five rounds at the actor's car. While Tiger escaped major injuries, his driver was hurt and is currently recovering in the hospital, with Tiger himself taking the driver's seat to rush to the medical facility.

Suspect Details

According to Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam, the police acted on a tip-off received on Monday morning and intercepted the train within 15 minutes. The three detained individuals are Rehan, also known as Sukka, from Sonipat in Haryana; Hritik Kurmi, also known as Roshan, from Begusarai in Bihar, who lived in Mumbai for a few years; and a minor. Preliminary questioning revealed that Rehan and the minor work as labourers in Sonipat, while another is a Rapido rider. The suspects planned to travel to Delhi and escape to Nepal, and police stated that Rehan had previously been in contact with US-based gangster Anil Pandit.

Industry Reactions

Actor Suniel Shetty, speaking after a naming ceremony attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Jackie Shroff, and himself, expressed deep concern over the incident and stated that it could happen to anyone. Jackie Shroff's attendance followed the event a day after the shooting. Several other celebrities, including Amaal Mallik, Mika Singh, Vidyut Jammwal, Shatrughan Sinha, and Ravi Kishan, also urged police protection for Tiger. Disha Patani and Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde visited Tiger's Mumbai home following the incident.

Gangster Claim

On Monday, US-based gangster Anil Pandit claimed responsibility for the firing in an audio sent to security agencies, demanding that Salman Khan apologize to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community. Meanwhile, the All India Cine Workers Association questioned Mumbai's law and order, stating that gangsters are attempting to terrorize Bollywood and extort money.

Context

High-profile threats and security breaches involving film personalities often highlight concerns about organized crime and extortion attempts directed at the entertainment industry. Law enforcement agencies frequently coordinate across multiple state borders to track suspects who attempt to flee after committing violent crimes in metropolitan areas.
