Public Appearance
Veteran actor Jackie Shroff made his first public appearance following an attack on his son, Tiger Shroff, attending a ceremony in Mumbai where a road was named after the late music composer Bappi Lahiri. Accompanied by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Suniel Shetty, and members of Bappi Lahiri's family, Jackie kept his signature plant pot in hand during the event. CMO officials noted that Jackie and the Chief Minister exchanged pleasantries but did not discuss the recent violence. Meanwhile, security has been increased outside the homes of prominent film personalities including Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Rohit Shetty.
The Attack And Arrests
The shooting occurred on Sunday when three gunmen on a motorcycle fired at Tiger's vehicle near Pushpa Narsee Park in Vile Parle as the actor returned from a football match. While Tiger escaped with minor abrasions, his driver and a bystander sustained injuries, and the actor ultimately drove his vehicle to safety. A social media post attributed to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility for the assault. Following a tip-off from Mumbai Police, law enforcement officers apprehended the three suspects aboard the Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express at Kota Junction in Rajasthan on Monday. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that those responsible would face strict consequences, while Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Tiger at his residence and warned of a firm police response.
