Tata Motors is getting ready to launch a brand new sedan named the Aeris on September 25, which serves as a refreshed version of the existing Tigor.
Exterior Design
The front look of the Aeris is sharper than the Tigor, featuring narrow LED headlamps with a slim DRL strip placed above them. The teaser clip also shows LED fog lamps that are missing on the Tigor, along with updated tail-lights, standard pull-type door handles, and a fresh purple paint option. Earlier design patent drawings show a notchback roofline and a rear bumper with reflectors on both sides. The wheels get a new design and could stay at 15 inches, while the sheet metal undergoes changes even though it is a facelift. The electric version of the Aeris will look similar to the petrol model with some EV-specific changes.
Cabin and Features
Interior specifics remain hidden for now, but the layout is likely to take cues from the updated Tiago hatchback. This means the car could come with an altered dashboard layout, a freestanding touchscreen, automatic climate control, and powered ORVMs. Standard safety and comfort features are expected to include six airbags, rear AC vents, and fast-charging ports.
Engine Options and Pricing
Under the hood, the Aeris will likely use the Tigor's 1.2-litre petrol and petrol-CNG engine options, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission. The electric Aeris variant may use battery packs of 19.2kWh and 24kWh borrowed from the Tiago EV. Prices will see a slight change with this update, moving from the current Tigor range of Rs 5.55 lakh to Rs 8.84 lakh, and the Tigor EV range of Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh ex-showroom. The electric variant might also feature a battery-as-a-subscription model to cut down initial purchase costs.
