Departure
A wounded Indian citizen has left the hospital and headed back to his home country following a recent assault. Mohammed Fazal Pasha, who hails from Telangana, departed for India after receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the October 10 attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia closely monitored his health condition throughout his stay in the hospital and arranged his travel after his discharge.
Casualties
The incident caused widespread casualties and operational disruptions at the airport. According to data from the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia, the October 10 attack left 12 people dead and 309 others injured. The victims included Saudi nationals and residents from Bangladesh, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan. A subsequent attack the following afternoon killed a Pakistani national and injured 11 more people.
Embassy Advisory
The Indian Embassy previously confirmed that 11 Indian nationals were hurt in total, while one injured Indian citizen died during treatment. Two other wounded Indians remain in the intensive care unit. Because the airport attacks disrupted operations and caused Indian airlines to suspend flights to Saudi Arabia, the embassy has strongly urged all Indian citizens to follow local security guidelines.
Context
Embassy missions routinely monitor the safety of their citizens abroad and arrange emergency travel assistance during crises. Aviation hubs like Riyadh serve as major travel links for workers across the region, making airport security incidents a serious concern for international communities.
