Sudeep's mother, Saroja Sanjeev, passed away at age 86 on October 20, 2024, due to age-related health issues, just days after the couple's 23rd wedding anniversary. Sudeep was shooting an episode of Bigg Boss Kannada when she was hospitalized and later expressed deep grief over not seeing her conscious before her death.
