Reliance Jio Platforms' mega IPO raised a record ₹30,213 crore as it was completely subscribed on the first day of bidding on Oct 21, 2026.

What Happened

The public issue began on Oct 21 and will run for three days until Oct 23. The issue price was set between Rs 1,065 and Rs 1,119 per share. A total of 19.75 crore shares were offered. By 10:39 am, investors had applied for 20.25 crore shares, giving a 1.03‑times oversubscription. Within the first hour 85 % of the shares were taken, and the entire allotment was sold within 100 minutes.

Details

Retail investors must buy a minimum lot of 12 shares, costing Rs 13,428 per lot, and can purchase up to 14 lots. The proceeds will be used to clear debt of Reliance Jio Infocomm and to fund 5G network expansion, AI projects and other digital services. Allocation decisions will be finalised by Oct 26, and the shares are slated to list on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange on Oct 28.

Context

This is the largest IPO in Indian market history and the first time Jio Platforms has offered shares to the public. Such rapid, full‑subscription is rare for large listings, highlighting strong investor confidence in the company's 5G and digital growth plans.
