Shreya Shree cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2021 at the age of 21, securing an All India Rank of 71 on her very first try. She achieved this result through self-study instead of attending coaching classes. Originally from Etwarpur Sisai village in the Vaishali district of Bihar, Shreya grew up in an environment that encouraged education and public service. Her father, Mithilesh Kumar, works in administrative service and encouraged her to aim high. After finishing her early schooling, Shreya completed both her graduation and postgraduation at IIT Kanpur before starting her civil services preparation. Following her selection into the Indian Administrative Service, she took on administrative roles in Bihar. She has worked as an SDO in Muzaffarpur and is now posted as the Deputy Development Commissioner of Khagaria. Shreya is married to Nikhil Mahajan, a 2021-batch Indian Foreign Service officer who secured an All India Rank of 80 in the same exam.
