Representative image · PexelsUPDATE - follow-up to US stock market today: Wall Street futures steady after Nasdaq hits record high, oil prices slide: US stock futures stayed mostly flat in Tuesday trade as the recent rally in chip stocks lost speed and investors focused on diplomacy to end the US-Iran conflict. S&P 500 futures changed little after a jump in technology giants and chipmakers pushed the index to a one-month high. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 112 points, or 0.2 percent, while Nasdaq-100 futures went up 0.1 percent following a record-high session driven by an 11.3 percent jump in Meta. Advanced Micro Devices crossed the $1 trillion market value mark during the previous session, with its shares up over 180 percent in 2026. Global investors are also preparing for a summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping after officials finished two days of talks in New York. Crude oil prices fell for the fifth straight day on reports that Iran offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days if the US eases military pressure and lifts its port blockade. Brent crude fell to $97.8 per barrel, its lowest level in two weeks, while the yield on the 10-year US Treasury dropped to 4.95 percent from 5.01 percent late Friday.
