Exterior Updates
The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift will launch in India on October 5, just over six months after its global reveal in March. The updated luxury sedan features a front grille that is 20 percent larger with LED illumination, alongside an illuminated Mercedes star on the bonnet and vertical slats with an illuminated 'Maybach' wordmark. New, larger headlights include three-pointed star DRLs, and tiny Maybach logos form the mesh pattern in the lower air dams. The car remains 180mm longer than the long-wheelbase S-Class and introduces new forged alloy wheels in 20- and 21-inch sizes with counterweighted logo caps that stay upright while turning. The D-pillar Maybach logo is illuminated, the tail-lamps feature the three-pointed-star LED signature, and every sedan includes options from the Manufaktur range for extra exterior colors and two-tone paint combinations.
Interior And Features
Inside, the cabin adopts a Superscreen setup consisting of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display. A new electrical architecture powered by four supercomputers controls the screens, safety systems, and driving dynamics. Personalisation options extend further inside with extended leather upholstery reaching down to the footwell, new color choices, and a first-ever leather-free vegan upholstery option. Rear seats now recline up to 43 degrees compared to 38 degrees in the standard S-Class, and include heating, ventilation, and massage functions, while two smartphone-style remotes replace the previous tablet controller.
Powertrains And Pricing
Internationally, the vehicle offers petrol and plug-in hybrid engines. The S 580 features an upgraded 4.0-litre V8 engine with a flat-plane crank delivering 537hp and 750Nm. The S 580e plug-in hybrid combines a 3.0-litre inline-six with a 163hp electric motor and a 22kWh battery, yielding 585hp, 750Nm, and a 98km pure electric range. India is expected to receive a 612hp, 850Nm version of the 4.0-litre V8. The current Mercedes-Maybach S 580 carries a price tag of Rs 2.87 crore ex-showroom before options, and the new facelift model is expected to cost more.
