The Bayon measures 4.2 metres in length and will sit between the Venue and Creta in the company’s Indian line‑up. It will be offered with a 1.5‑litre naturally‑aspirated petrol engine that makes 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, paired with either a manual gearbox or Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission. A built‑in generative AI voice assistant is highlighted as a key feature, promising more natural driver interaction. The vehicle rests on Hyundai’s Global K Enhanced Platform, which the maker says is designed to meet the five‑star Bharat NCAP safety target, although official crash‑test results have not been published. Exterior styling includes a sculpted bonnet, H‑Edge LED daytime running lights, distinctive wheel arches, full‑length door cladding and bridge‑type roof rails, and it rides on 215/55 R17 alloy wheels. Interior cues from test units show a horizontal dashboard layout, two integrated screens, a four‑dot steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof and a 360‑degree camera system. Hyundai has not yet disclosed the vehicle’s width, height, wheelbase or boot capacity. A CNG variant has been rumored but not confirmed. Bookings can be made via the official Hyundai website or authorized dealers across India. The company plans a festive‑season market launch, with exact dates and delivery schedules to be announced later. The Bayon will also debut in its Euro‑spec form at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October, a timing that may align with the Indian reveal. Managing Director and CEO Tarun Garg said the Bayon represents Hyundai’s vision of intelligent mobility through advanced technology, futuristic design and comprehensive safety.
