UPDATE - follow-up to Asian Games Day 5 Live Updates: India trail China in badminton semis; Mirabai wins silver: Ayush Shetty lost his men's singles match against China's Shifeng 21-19, 21-13 in the badminton semifinal clash, leaving the Indian team trailing 1-2 in the tie. Shifeng used high tosses and lifts to the backline to draw out smash errors from Shetty, accelerating his pace from the 17-point mark after trailing earlier. Despite a strong display of defense and a brilliant swat-push that drew applause from Prannoy, Shetty struggled with unforced errors and couldn't match his opponent's tactical play at the close of the sets. In other squash events on Day 5, Abhay Singh and Veer Chotrani both won their round of 32 matches in the men's singles, while Tanvi Khanna moved forward to the round of 16 in the women's singles category.
