Fund Transfers

Funds under the Annapurna Yojana have reached the bank accounts of six lakh and fifty-six thousand women in Purulia. The installment meant for August was credited in September, as stated by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari while speaking to reporters in Purulia.

Political Support and Housing

People in Purulia have voted for the lotus flower since 2018 and stayed with the party from the first day, according to the Chief Minister. He added that Purulia and the hills of Darjeeling played the biggest role in the rise of the party in West Bengal, and these places remain priority areas for development. He also mentioned that a list for nearly two lakh new houses under the housing scheme has been sent, and the government has already released the second installment of sixty thousand rupees each to sixteen thousand beneficiaries.

Salary Hikes and Eligibility

Earlier, during an Annapurna Divas event at the Bidhannagar book fair ground on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, the Chief Minister announced salary hikes. The state government increased the monthly salary of ICDS and Asha workers by five thousand rupees starting in August. Animal welfare workers, known as Pranimitras, also received a two-thousand-rupee salary increase. Since their salary is less than ten thousand rupees, they will also get the benefits of the Annapurna Yojana.

Benefit Payouts and Cabinet Decision

During the celebrations on the 17th at the Bidhannagar book fair ground, eligible beneficiaries received three thousand rupees directly in their bank accounts. Chief Secretary Manoj Agarwal stated at the event that Annapurna Divas was observed to empower women and build a developed nation. He noted that the new government promised that mothers and sisters aged twenty-five to sixty who do not pay income tax and are not government employees would receive three thousand rupees a month from the West Bengal government. The Chief Secretary also shared that the decision to implement the Annapurna Yojana was taken in the first cabinet meeting after the Chief Minister took the oath of office on May 9, calling it the biggest project of the West Bengal government.
