Hindustan Petroleum Corporation has reported a six percent fall in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the 2027 financial year.
Financial Growth
Even with the drop in profit, the company managed to bounce back to make money in the second quarter of FY27 after facing a heavy loss in the first quarter.
Sales And Revenue
Revenue from product sales grew by 26 percent to reach Rs 1.38 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY27 compared to Rs 1.09 lakh crore in the same period of the previous year.
Context
High crude oil prices can severely impact the profit margins of oil-refining companies like Hindustan Petroleum. When the cost of raw crude goes up, companies often face financial pressure even if their total product sales and revenue go up.
