What Happened

Android users can now download the free Adobe Premiere mobile app from the Google Play Store, more than a year after its iOS release. The application offers core editing tools like split, trim, crop, merge, speed adjustments, text, effects, and audio layers at no cost. Users can export an unlimited number of 4K videos without watermarks or payment.

Features And Requirements

The app includes frame-accurate editing and a multi-track timeline for layering video, music, and text. A standout tool is Enhance Audio, which cleans up background noise in a single tap. Advanced generative AI features, such as Firefly-powered sound effects and assets, require separate in-app purchases and credits, alongside optional cloud storage upgrades. To run the app, Android devices need at least Android 13 and a minimum of 5GB of RAM.

Market Impact

Adobe is targeting the Indian market, noting that 95 percent of creators in the country are mobile-first. Diksha Kuhar, Director of Product Marketing for Premiere mobile at Adobe, stated that the launch brings professional video tools to millions of creators. Adobe plans to introduce further updates including Adobe Fonts, enhanced captions, keyframes, beat detection, and desktop project continuity.
