Mahindra's upcoming SUV based on the Vision S platform has been spotted testing with a new connected-style rear light setup. Night-time photos show slim horizontal red LED strips extending inwards from the outer lamp assemblies toward the tailgate-mounted spare wheel, giving the vehicle a broader look at the back than seen in earlier daytime tests.

Rear Design Details

The spare wheel blocks the middle section, so photos do not confirm a fully uninterrupted light bar across the back. Earlier close-up views also show a narrow horizontal outline under the camouflage near the outer lamp. Older sightings displayed tall lamps built into the rear pillars with stacked horizontal red elements, similar to the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N models. The latest night photos highlight the lower horizontal lights, but do not prove the higher pillar lights are gone, as those sections might just be unlit or hidden in the dark. The overall design seems to use both higher vertical pieces and a lower horizontal layout, though the exact roles for brake lights, position lamps, and indicators are still unknown.

Platform and Features

The prototype keeps its straight rear window, strong wheel arches, and center-mounted spare tyre. Previous tyre markings showed a 235/70 R16 size, pointing to a thick tyre sidewall. Inside, test vehicles show two horizontal screens, vertical AC vents, and an electronic parking brake. The SUV is expected to fit in the sub-four-metre category and use Mahindra's NU_IQ platform, which supports both petrol-diesel engines and electric setups. Its rugged build and Scorpio-like pillar lamps lead to talk that it could be a smaller Scorpio model named Scorpio Sport, though Mahindra has not confirmed this name. Engine options and final features remain unannounced, and the launch is expected in the year 2027.
