BMW has launched the locally assembled i7 50 xDrive in India with a price tag of Rs 1.95 crore, matching its petrol-powered sibling exactly. Since its launch in 2023, the luxury electric vehicle has captured high-end buyers, with about 60 percent of 7 Series buyers choosing the electric version over petrol. Alongside this, BMW has also brought in the fully imported i7 M70 xDrive at Rs 2.65 crore, carrying a hefty Rs 70 lakh price gap.
Design and Cabin
The updated i7 brings cleaned-up exterior styling with slimmer crystalline daytime running lamps, a redesigned illuminated grille, and new 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the traditional instrument cluster is replaced by a panoramic head-up display across the base of the windscreen. The cabin also features a 17.9-inch touchscreen, a front passenger display, a 31.3-inch 8K rear theatre screen, and a 35-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
Performance
The dual-motor setup pushes out 483 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque, driving the car from zero to 100 kph in 5.5 seconds. It rides on a pillowy air suspension system that handles rough roads with ease, while rear-axle steering helps the large sedan maneuver with agility.
