Sachin Tendulkar has praised Japan's efforts to learn cricket after a recent T20 match between India and Japan. The International Cricket Council shared his post on social media.
The Match
Indian men toured Japan to play a single T20 match. Rain reduced the game to five overs. India won the match by just two runs. Japan played so well that they almost worried the current champions, surprising everyone watching.
Japan's Effort
While other sports are popular in Japan, this was their first time playing a T20 match against India. Japan created and distributed guidebooks so local people could easily understand the new sport. Tendulkar wrote on his X page that it is wonderful to see cricket finding a new home. He noted that the best part was seeing guidebooks given to visitors at the entrance gate so they could understand the game better. Tendulkar also congratulated the Japan team for taking up this challenge and playing well.
ICC Response
The International Cricket Council shared Tendulkar's post and appreciated Japan's initiative.
