Alia Bhatt's first-look poster for the upcoming movie Love and War has drawn a mixed response from fans online, with some social media users comparing her look to films like Toxic and Bombay Velvet. In the poster released on Friday, Alia wears a magenta-red crop top with a thigh-high slit skirt and a large feathered headpiece that looks like a cabaret dancer's outfit. While some fans liked the new look, others on Reddit called the poster heavily edited or claimed it was made using artificial intelligence. Comments compared her style to Kiara Advani's look in Toxic and noted similarities to Bombay Velvet and Animal. This comes just a day after the makers released Ranbir Kapoor's first-look poster showing him driving a vintage car in a white T-shirt with a bruised hand, which received a positive response. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Love and War brings him back together with Ranbir after Saawariya and with Alia after Gangubai Kathiawadi, while also marking his first project with Vicky Kaushal. Reports state the movie is a period romantic war drama featuring Ranbir and Vicky as Indian Air Force officers in a love triangle with Alia's character. Co-written by Sanjay and Ila Bedi Dutta and also starring Supriya Pathak, the film hits theatres on January 21, 2027.
