Actor Rajkummar Rao recently talked about his early days in Mumbai and his deep respect for Shah Rukh Khan while appearing on the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18. Rajkummar appeared on the program alongside his Prahaar co-star Wamiqa Gabbi and public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, whose life inspires the new movie. During the episode, host Amitabh Bachchan brought up Shah Rukh Khan by noting that both actors share roots in Delhi. Rajkummar shared that he decided to act when he was very young and looked closely at Shah Rukh's path to stardom. He told Amitabh that he had a poster of the legendary host in his mother's room because Amitabh has always been at the top, adding that Shah Rukh's journey from a middle-class Delhi family through theatre and television to massive movie fame gave him great hope. Rajkummar also recalled that during his first trip to Mumbai for an audition where he did not get selected, he spent time standing outside Shah Rukh's famous home, Mannat. Amitabh, who has shared the screen with Shah Rukh in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Mohabbatein, offered his own praise for the superstar. Amitabh stated that he has worked with him and found him to be a person who never accepts defeat no matter what problem arises, noting that Shah Rukh uses his words to lift the confidence of everyone around him. This television appearance promotes their upcoming movie Prahaar, a biopic about Ujjwal Nikam that highlights the legal proceedings against the single surviving gunman from the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sikander Kher, and hits theatres on October 16.
