What Happened

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show in Greater Noida. Six countries, including Japan, Vietnam, Russia, Singapore, Austria, and Belarus, are taking part as partner countries in this year's event. The platform gives local artisans from various districts a chance to display their handcrafts and lets buyers from around the world purchase state products under one roof.

Leaders' Remarks

Chief Minister Yogi आदित्यनाथ stated that the event is a meeting point of tradition, technology, heritage, and innovation. He credited the state's One District, One Product scheme to an initiative and thought process started by Amit Shah. Amit Shah noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Make in India program about 12 years ago, and this trade show moves in that same direction.

Investment and Economy

Amit Shah stated that Uttar Pradesh once suffered from the rule of mafia groups before the BJP government came to power in 2017 and Yogi आदित्यनाथ became Chief Minister. He said the state government ended the mafia presence, which created a safe environment for investments and built strong political stability that boosted investor trust. Addressing questions about gross domestic product figures, Shah said critics are calling India's GDP numbers wrong, but the country achieved a 7.8 percent growth rate after the Prime Minister raised the growth estimate from 6 percent to 7 percent. He added that India remains among the fastest-growing economies in the world despite global unrest and challenges.
