Finnish data operations company Aiven has launched its business operations in India, aiming to tap into the country's growing artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and enterprise technology sectors. The firm provides open-source data infrastructure solutions designed for AI and cloud environments, and it serves clients like large firms in banking, fintech, cybersecurity, and telecom around the world.
Bengaluru Expansion
The company will build a local partner ecosystem to help Indian businesses modernise their data platforms without being tied to a single technology provider or cloud environment. Aiven's Bengaluru team currently has 15 employees, and the firm plans to expand this workforce with a focus on sales, partnerships, solution engineering, and other business functions. The company stated that its new India office is a long-term investment rather than just a marketing presence.
Executive Remarks
Pranay Shree, one of the executives leading the expansion, noted that India is increasingly where cloud, AI, and enterprise innovation are built at scale. Another executive, Ken Manuja, stated that the country possesses the developer talent pool, digital businesses, and cloud adoption momentum to become a key market in the Asia-Pacific region for data transformation.
