Rohit Shetty links Bigg Boss drama to real‑life shootings of Bollywood stars

Rohit Shetty, standing in for Salman Khan on Bigg Boss 20, told the contestants that actual firearms have been used against film personalities, tying their pretend gangster behavior to a spate of recent shootings. On the Weekend Ka Vaar segment he called out Scout OP, Asif and Yung DSA for repeatedly harassing fellow participant Qazi Touqeer and reminded them that homes of stars have been targeted. He said, 'Bullets have been fired at our houses; why are you acting like gangsters?'

What Happened

On February 1, early morning, five rounds were discharged at the first‑floor of Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence. No one was hurt, and the Mumbai police later detained several suspects. A similar attack on Salman Khan’s Bandra flat occurred last year, and the actor has received threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Reaction

Tiger Shroff faced a shooting on October 18 around 7 pm in Juhu while leaving a football club; two people, including his driver, were injured but the actor escaped injury. Police sealed a hotel room in Andheri where three primary suspects were staying and have begun reconstructing the scene. The crime branch also probes claims that the shooters rehearsed firing at an unknown location before the attack. Earlier this week, four accused linked to the Tiger Shroff incident appeared before Mumbai’s Esplanade Court, and a suspect named Anil Pandit was reported as absconding.

Context

Such incidents reflect a rising pattern of intimidation against high‑profile entertainers in Mumbai, prompting intensified police investigations and heightened security for film stars.
