Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's movie The Vvaan - Force of the Forrest opened in theatres on Friday and collected eight crore rupees in net box office collections across India on its first day. The movie achieved an overall occupancy of forty-three percent across six thousand seven hundred and forty-five shows nationwide. Morning shows recorded twelve percent occupancy, which rose to twenty-four percent in the afternoon and reached twenty-seven percent by the evening. City-wise numbers show Mumbai recorded the highest occupancy at thirty-two percent across fournine-one shows. The National Capital Region and Pune both registered twenty-five percent occupancy, with six hundred and ninety-two and one hundred and eighty-six shows respectively. Bengaluru and Lucknow both stood at twenty-six percent occupancy, running one hundred and thirty-six and one hundred and thirty-four shows respectively. These figures come from data provided by Sacnilk. The film outperformed Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta's Batwara 1947, which earned five point seven five crore rupees on its first day. It also beat the opening day collection of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's Haiwaan, which managed three crore rupees on day one before turning into a box office disaster with under fifteen crore rupees in worldwide earnings. Meanwhile, The Vvaan is currently competing against last week's release Vibe, which has collected eleven point two five crore rupees in India over seven days despite a lukewarm response. The Vvaan features Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari, Anup Soni, Maniesh Paul, Avtar Gill, Milind Gunaji, Sulabha Arya, Durgesh Kumar, Sundip Ved and Akshaan Sehrawat in supporting roles. Deepak Kumar Mishra and Arunabh Kumar directed the film, which was produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, TVF Motion Pictures and 11:11 Productions. Reviewer Rishabh Suri gave the film two point five stars, noting that while the fantasy horror premise around a Goddess and Chhath Puja had strong potential, the movie ultimately got distracted by comedy and songs.
