Director Vishal Chaturvedi's film Hanuman Ansh has completed fifty days in theatres, earning a worldwide total of Rs 381.35 crore. The movie was made on a budget of less than Rs 2 crore and started with the risk of being removed from cinemas before turning into a massive hit.

Box Office Numbers

On its fiftieth day alone, the film collected Rs 3.35 crore net in India and Rs 50 lakh overseas. It was released in international markets on September 11 and has brought in Rs 37 crore abroad within fourteen days. The movie was produced on a budget of around Rs 1.5 crore, with three producers putting in about Rs 50 lakh each together with the director. This return means the film has earned close to 200 times its budget, beating successful movie series like Dhurandhar and Pushpa in return on investment.

Competition and Theme

Released on August 7, the movie stood strong against tough competition from big budget films featuring famous actors. These included Batwara 1947 with Sunny Deol, Awarapan 2 with Emraan Hashmi, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups with Yash, Haiwaan with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, Daayra with Kareena Kapoor and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Vibe with Kunal Khemu. None of these big releases affected its box office run. The story focuses on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, joining other spiritual hits like the Gujarati film Laalo which made Rs 120 crore on a Rs 1.2 crore budget, and Deool Band 2 which earned over Rs 100 crore on a Rs 10 crore budget.

Future Plans

Following this massive success, the creators plan to make two more parts in this franchise. Before starting the sequel, they will make a movie about the life of Tulsidas. Earnings are set to grow further because digital streaming, music, and television rights have not been sold yet, and the digital release date is still unannounced.
