Photo: Openverse - wikimediaUPDATE - follow-up to Kawasaki Z300 launched at Rs 3.24 lakh: The new Kawasaki Z300 arrives as the entry-level model in the brand's Indian Z line-up, carrying a price tag of Rs 3.24 lakh ex-showroom India. It shares its core platform with the Ninja 300.
Specifications And Design
Power comes from a 296cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It pushes out 40 horsepower at 11,000rpm and 26.3Nm of torque at 10,000rpm. Styling draws inspiration from the larger Z900 using Sugomi design cues. The bike features a wide upright single-piece handlebar, dual-channel ABS, and a reverse LCD instrument cluster without smartphone connectivity. Weighing 175kg, it is 4kg lighter than the Ninja 300 due to stripped-back bodywork, and comes in Candy Lime Green and Metallic Carbon Grey.
Hardware And Rivals
The tubular frame, 37mm right-way-up telescopic front fork, and rear preload-adjustable monoshock come directly from the Ninja 300. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with a 110-section front tyre and a 140-section rear tyre, using a 290mm front petal disc and 220mm rear petal disc for braking. Chief market rivals include the KTM 390 Duke priced at Rs 2.85 lakh and the TVS Apache RTR 310 priced at Rs 2.30 lakh.
Context
Streetfighter motorcycles offer naked styling and upright riding positions suited for daily city use. Parallel-twin engines generally provide smoother power delivery compared to single-cylinder alternatives in the same displacement category.
