Allotment Details

Jio Platforms has set the share allotment date for its mega initial public offering on October 26, with the stock market listing scheduled for October 28, 2026. Investors can check their allotment status on the official websites of BSE, NSE, or the registrar KFin Technologies. According to PTI reports cited by BBC, the massive public issue reached a historic milestone as the world's first IPO to receive over one crore applications.

Subscription Numbers

The public issue reached a total subscription of 22.19 times across three days according to NSE data, while the retail category alone was subscribed 2.72 times. Because the retail demand far exceeded the reserved shares, the allotment follows a lottery system rather than guaranteeing shares to every applicant. Unsuccessful applicants will see their blocked funds released back into their bank accounts by October 27, 2026. Market experts advise investors not to panic-buy shares immediately upon listing just because they missed out on the IPO, suggesting a careful check of share price, valuation, and company performance first.

Context

Initial public offerings allow private companies to raise capital from the public by issuing shares on stock exchanges like the BSE and NSE. Reliance group launched its first public offering way back in 1977 under the name Reliance Textile Industries, raising 2.80 crore rupees before later growing into a massive corporate giant.
