Logistics company DHL Express has announced an 8.9 percent increase in its shipment charges across India, taking effect from January 1. The annual price revision helps the firm manage rising expenses caused by inflation, changes in currency values, and industry-specific cost shifts.
Reasons And Reach
Operating in more than 220 countries and territories, DHL Express faces pressures from both local and global economic factors. The company stated that its cost structure is impacted by energy prices, compliance rules, and administrative expenses linked to new customs, security, and regulatory measures from authorities. Ongoing labor market pressures in multiple countries also push up operational costs.
Official Statement
RS Subramanian, senior vice president for South Asia at DHL Express, said the annual adjustment allows the company to maintain high service levels and strengthen the resilience of its global operations. He noted that international trade creates new business opportunities while supply chains grow more complex, and the firm remains committed to helping customers through investments in its global network, digital tools, security infrastructure, and sustainable logistics solutions.
