Squad Omissions

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke believes Indian wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav is not getting enough chances to play. Clarke called him the best all-format spinner in the world right now on his YouTube channel, the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast. Kuldeep has missed out on several white-ball games lately. Team form, match combinations, and pitch conditions are the main reasons for his absence.

Recent Setbacks

Kuldeep missed a spot in India's Test team against Sri Lanka after a slow start in Galle last month. He was also dropped from the T20I squad for the Afghanistan series and the Asian Games. Despite missing all five Tests during India's tour of England last year, he recently returned to England and took 10 wickets in a match for Yorkshire against Essex at Headingley, including career-best innings figures of six for fifty.

Player Reaction

Kuldeep admitted in a talkSPORT interview with Neil Manthorp and Steve Harmison that he felt bad about missing out on the playing eleven. He noted that team strategy and management decisions often dictate selection. However, Clarke expects the bowler to feature for India against Australia.
