The 18-year-old Indian player fell to scores of 4-11, 4-11 and 7-11 against her opponent. Before reaching the final, Anahat came close to elimination in the semifinal against Japan's Satomi Watanabe. She dropped two games and saved two match points before winning the third game and completing a comeback to take the remaining two. Sivasangari reached the final without dropping a single game and maintained that record to secure the gold medal. In the final match, Anahat initially held a 3-1 lead in the first game before Sivasangari fought back to make it 4-3. A series of errors left Anahat trailing 3-9, and though she scored with a drop shot, the Malaysian quickly closed out the first game at 11-4. The second game followed a similar pattern as Sivasangari built a 6-2 lead through strong drop shots and finished the game 11-4. Anahat fell behind 0-4 at the start of the third game. She saved one gold medal point when trailing 6-10, but Sivasangari secured the final point to take the match. Sivasangari's win also earned her a place at the 2028 Olympics, where squash will make its debut. Earlier on Sunday, fellow Malaysian Eain Yow Ng defeated India's Abhay Singh in the men's singles gold medal match.
