Director Aakash Kaushik's spy comedy Udta Teer earned Rs 3.15 crore in India nett on its first Monday, marking a 61.6 per cent drop from Sunday's Rs 8.20 crore collection across 5,805 shows. This takes the film's total domestic earnings to Rs 22.70 crore, while worldwide gross stands at Rs 33.87 crore.

Box Office Performance

The movie recorded an overall occupancy of 16.25 per cent in the Hindi market on Monday. Morning shows started at 6.69 per cent, rose to 18.15 per cent in the afternoon, dipped to 15.31 per cent in the evening, and reached 20.62 per cent at night. This performance marks Ayushmann Khurrana's lowest first-Monday collection in three years, falling behind Dream Girl 2 at Rs 5.42 crore, Thamma at Rs 4.30 crore, and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do at Rs 3.25 crore. However, it outperformed An Action Hero, Nayyi Navelli, and Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam.

Cast and Crew

Udta Teer features Sara Ali Khan, Mukul Dev, Gulshan Grover, Ram Kapoor, and Rahul Bose in key roles alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. The film is co-produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Guneet Monga Kapoor. Meanwhile, Nelson Dilipkumar's Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 continues a strong run, earning Rs 9.45 crore on its second Monday to reach Rs 408.15 crore domestically.

Context

First-Monday box office numbers are widely watched by trade analysts because they reveal whether a movie has managed to hold its audience after the opening weekend. Mixed reviews and competition from established holdovers often make it difficult for new mid-budget releases to recover ground during the working week.
