Production of the Skoda Slavia facelift is officially underway at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India facility in Chakan, Pune, ahead of a planned market launch on October 6, 2026. Pre-bookings for the midsize sedan are currently open with a token amount of Rs 15,000.

What Changed

The updated sedan sports a sharper look through revised headlamps, tail-lamps, restyled bumpers, and new 16-inch alloy wheels, alongside fresh paint options like Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige. Inside, the cabin gets a new 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a 360-degree camera, a single-pane sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, and a rear-seat massager. Skoda has also added a variable-geometry AC compressor to boost cooling performance. Under the hood, the 115hp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine now pairs with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox, while the 150hp 1.5-litre motor keeps its 7-speed DCT setup.

Market Position

The current Slavia model ranges from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 18.29 lakh, and the facelift is expected to command a price premium. Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, noted that the new model builds on past strengths with added tech and comfort. The sedan has sold nearly 80,000 units in India since launch and holds close to a 30 percent share in its segment, where it competes against the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and Volkswagen Virtus.

Context

Midsize sedans remain a popular choice for buyers looking for comfort and driving performance on Indian roads. Routine updates help car makers keep their models fresh against newer rivals in a competitive market.
