Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil has revealed that actor Vijay was the first person to tell him he would become a film actor. Fahadh shared this memory during an interview with director and actor K.S. Ravikumar for Behindwoods TV, conducted as part of the promotions for his upcoming movie 'Don't Trouble the Trouble'.

Early Meeting

Fahadh recalled that he first met Vijay on the sets of the film 'Kaadhalukku Mariyadhai', which was directed by his father, Fazil. The shooting took place at their family home when Fahadh was visiting during a vacation at the age of 12 or 13. According to Fahadh, Vijay did not speak much on that day, but everything they discussed centered on cinema. Although Vijay and Fahadh have never acted together in a feature film, they previously appeared together in a jewellery advertisement.

Career Journey

Fahadh's debut film 'Kaiyethum Doorathu', released in 2002 and directed by his father, failed at the box office. Reflecting on that period in an interview reported by Indian Express - Malayalam, Fahadh noted he was only 17 or 18 years old at the time and took the failure deeply to heart. He left for the US in 2002 and returned in 2009, initially studying engineering before finishing his degree in philosophy. Exposure to world cinema during his time abroad inspired him to return to the film industry, initially intending to make just one movie for his father. He has now reached his 66th film.

New Movie

Fahadh's upcoming project is 'Don't Trouble the Trouble', a fantasy entertainer directed by debutant Shashank Yeleti. The film is backed by Arka Media Works, known for producing large-scale projects like 'Bahubali', along with Showing Business. It is produced by Shobu Yarlagadda, Prasad Devineni, and S.S. Karthikeya, and presented by S.S. Rajamouli. Bhavana Studios' Bhavana Release is bringing the movie to theatres in Kerala.

Context

Celebrity interactions during childhood often leave lasting impressions on those who later enter the entertainment industry. Family legacies in Indian cinema frequently provide early exposure to film sets, shaping the career paths of subsequent generations of actors and directors.
