Hanuman Ansh has become the first devotional drama to cross the Rs 400 crore mark worldwide, earning about 200 times its modest budget. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film dramatizes the life of spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba and has drawn strong reviews. It has collected Rs 309.38 crore in India and Rs 404.25 crore globally. The movie stars Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand in key roles. Its song “Maine Tere Hi Bharose”, performed by visually‑impaired Bundeli singer Suneel Lodhi, went viral on social media. Co‑producer Anupriya Nagar said she arranged eye‑care appointments for Lodhi in Mumbai and that the Madhya Pradesh government also stepped in to fund his treatment, describing the effort as a joint one. When asked about rumours that Akshay Kumar might join the sequel, Nagar replied that she had not confirmed anything and called the reports false, noting her earlier comment calling him her “favourite actor” had been misread. The sequel is expected to retain Satyaa and Anand as leads.

Context

Box‑office hits of devotional films are rare, making Hanuman Ansh’s earnings notable. Government assistance to artists with disabilities reflects a broader push for inclusive support in Indian cinema.
