Price Hike Details

Skoda Auto India is raising prices across its entire passenger vehicle portfolio by up to 1.2 percent starting October 1. The price revision applies at the ex-showroom level and the actual increase varies across different models and variants. The company has capped the maximum price increase at 20,000 rupees. Skoda cites rising input and operational costs as the reason for this decision.

Portfolio and Sales Growth

This price change follows a strong sales period for the carmaker in India. Skoda recorded its highest-ever annual sales in 2025 by selling 72,655 cars. The company also posted its strongest-ever first-half sales in 2026 and crossed 50,000 units by August, which is a growth of more than 8 percent over the same period last year. More than 250,000 locally made Skoda vehicles have been sold during this growth phase, including the Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia. The Kylaq compact SUV alone accounts for over 75,000 of these units. Skoda currently sells five models in India, which are the Kylaq, Slavia, Kushaq, Kodiaq, and Octavia RS, alongside an expanded network of more than 345 customer touchpoints across 193 cities.

Context

Car manufacturers in India regularly adjust vehicle prices to manage higher manufacturing expenses and shipping costs. These adjustments help companies protect their profit margins when the prices of raw materials like steel and rubber go up over time.
