Sales in the 150cc to 200cc motorcycle segment reached 1,76,483 units in August 2026, marking a 7.51 percent increase compared to 1,64,158 units sold in the same month last year.

Brand Performance

TVS took the top spot in the category by selling 55,123 units, which gave the brand a 31.23 percent share of total segment sales. Bajaj followed in second place with 40,013 units, bouncing back strongly with a monthly volume gain despite a drop compared to the previous year. Honda secured the third spot with 35,394 units for its Unicorn model alone, supported by steady growth both year-on-year and month-on-month. Together, TVS, Bajaj, and Honda's top models drove the bulk of the market volume.

Other Makers

Yamaha sold 34,696 units with help from the XSR model, while Hero recorded 5,290 units as gains in the Xpulse 200 balanced out a drop in the Xtreme 160. KTM sales fell to 2,654 units, and Suzuki posted the highest percentage jump with a 91.03 percent rise to reach 745 units on a smaller base.

Sales figures in this bracket often fluctuate based on festive seasons, new model introductions, and shifting consumer preferences among young riders.
