Both racers signed on with the garage back in 2023 and helped turn the squad's fortunes around. The Indian outfit finished the past campaign in third place overall with 252 points, beating out rivals like Andretti, Citroen and Nissan.
The New Gen4 Cars
The upcoming championship marks the launch of the brand-new Gen4 vehicle. Organizers state this will be the quickest racer in the sport so far, hitting a top speed above 335 kilometers per hour. It goes from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in roughly 1.8 seconds and packs power up to 816 horsepower or 600 kilowatts. The vehicle also comes with permanent all-wheel drive and unique aero setups for time trials versus actual races. Team leader Frederic Bertrand mentioned that keeping the same drivers gives the group vital teamwork as they face a tough learning phase with the new machinery.
Schedule And Tests
The racing calendar begins in Saudi Arabia with a double-header race in Jeddah on December 18 and 19. Before those races start, all teams will head to Spain for pre-season tests at the Jarama track between November 16 and 20.
Context
Motorsport teams often keep experienced drivers when major technical rule changes happen to help guide vehicle setup. Electric vehicle racing championships serve as testing grounds for car brands to improve battery and motor tech for regular street vehicles.
