Magnum Sports Private Limited has agreed to sell its entire stake in Kerala Blasters to the United Arab Emirates-based Al Fursan Sports Investment Group. This deal brings Gulf investment back into the Indian Super League following the departure of the City Football Group from Mumbai City FC last year. The buyers have ties to the Al Qasimi royal family of Sharjah, and the ownership transfer will take place in steps over the course of the season.

Management and Venue

The club announced these changes during a press conference in Kochi on Tuesday. KBFC Chief Executive Officer Abhik Chatterjee stated that Offioh Sporty India Private Limited, a Kerala-based firm, will manage the team's commercial and daily operations for this season. Offioh CEO Thameem Anwar confirmed alongside co-founder Shararh Kuniyil that the team will continue playing home games at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi for now. Discussions regarding stadium rent with the Greater Cochin Development Authority will happen later, following past disagreements over venue costs before the 2025/26 season.

Future Plans

The new management intends to build a brand new stadium for the team starting next season. Anwar explained that the current venue fails to meet FIFA standards, though he did not share details about the proposed location. This ownership change makes the Blasters the second Indian Super League club to switch hands ahead of this season, following the TATA Group selling Jamshedpur FC for a nominal fee of one hundred rupees to Churchill Brothers.

Context

Changes in ownership and management often bring fresh financial backing to football clubs, which can impact player recruitment and stadium infrastructure. Building a new stadium is a major undertaking that typically requires significant capital and local government approvals. Sports investments from foreign groups into Indian leagues reflect growing international interest in domestic football development.
