British comedian David Walliams has been removed from an upcoming movie titled "The Road to Nevermore" following misconduct allegations.
Production Details
According to TMZ, a source close to the film said the actor was taken off the project after the claims came to light. Filming is still in the early stages, and David had only been listed on an early cast sheet. He never signed an official contract for the movie, and his name is now gone from the cast list on IMDb. The talent agency YMU is also no longer actively representing him.
Publisher Action
This comes as fallout continues from publisher HarperCollins. Following an internal investigation into his alleged behavior towards junior female employees, the publisher decided not to put out any new books by him. One staff member reportedly received a five-figure payoff after raising concerns. Former workers also said they were told to work with David in pairs and were advised not to visit his home. HarperCollins later confirmed it would also stop publishing his older books.
Response and Background
David has denied all the claims through his spokesperson, stating he was never told about any allegations, was not part of any investigation, and is taking legal advice. Born in Surrey in 1971, David is known for his work on "Little Britain" and for writing bestselling children's books like "Gangsta Granny" and "Mr Stink", along with his major charity swims for Sport Relief.
Context
Celebrity misconduct allegations often lead to swift contract terminations and project removals across the entertainment industry as production companies and publishers review their associations. Major publishing houses maintain workplace safety policies to address employee concerns and investigate reports of inappropriate behavior.
